Over the past few days, it is starting to become apparent that Andriy Lunin will be leaving Real Madrid in search of a regular starting XI spot elsewhere.

The 25-year-old impressed last season during Thibaut Courtois’ absence but found himself being dropped back to the backup role once the Belgian returned from injury late in the campaign.

With the situation unlikely to change as far as the goalkeeping department, Lunin is contemplating a departure and has no shortage of interest, with Chelsea among the clubs emerging as his suitors.

Real Madrid will sell Lunin for Kepa plus cash

Now, AS has brought forward a major update on Real Madrid’s stance as far as Lunin’s potential move to Chelsea is concerned.

Los Blancos have set a €30 million price tag on the Ukrainian international, which Chelsea would be reluctant to meet.

But with Real Madrid holding an interest in Chelsea outcast Kepa Arrizabalaga, the possibility of a player-exchange operation has now risen.

Indeed, as per the report, Real Madrid would be willing to accept an offer from Chelsea which would see Lunin move to Stamford Bridge in exchange for Kepa plus some additional cash.

It would not be a direct plain swap as Real Madrid firmly believe that Lunin, 25, has a much higher value than Kepa, who is 29 years old and is out of favour at his current club.

As such, Los Blancos would accept the player-exchange operation as long as Chelsea throw in some additional cash, although deciding the figure would be a challenge in closing the agreement.
