According to AS, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez landed in Paris earlier today, with a lunch meeting with France president Emmanuel Macron expected to take place.

Mbappe-related meeting?

The meeting between the Real Madrid chief and the President of France could be related to the matter of Kylian Mbappe and his potential involvement in the Paris Olympic Games.

Macron had stated in recent weeks that he would try to convince Mbappe’s new club to let him take part in the Olympic Games, with Real Madrid understood to be unwilling to let the Frenchman participate in the event.

Real Madrid have already sent a letter to the French Football Federation stating that they would not release their French players for the Olympic Games if they had played in the European Championship beforehand.

Therefore, Macron, who wants to bring the best possible team for the Olympics, could meet in the next few hours with Perez to settle the matter.

Mbappe to arrive soon

Mbappe bid farewell to PSG earlier this month and will soon be a Real Madrid player if everything goes according to plans.

The player and the Merengues wish to announce his transfer before he departs for the UEFA Euro 2024 in early June.

But there may be complications with that as the French superstar’s contract with PSG runs until June 30, while he will also have to join the national team camp soon after the season is over.
