Real Madrid president Florentino Perez says the Galacticos era was created out of necessity.

Perez admits buying the likes of Zinedine Zidane and Ronaldo was to attract sponsors to the club.

He told El Chiringuito: "The Galácticos came from a very bad economic situation and we had to hit the wall. We created an environment in which sponsors arrived. We needed money and Madrid's problem is that little was received.

"Right now the big players don't sell them to you or they are worth a lot of money. We have clauses of €1bn. We have players like Vinicius, Rodrygo, Valverde.

"We are going to try to renew Vinicius. But he always says one thing: 'I don't want to move from Real Madrid'.

"I think Vinicius is going to win the Ballon d'Or. Madrid is the right basket for great players and Vinicius is a great player, you just have to be patient. Being the next to hallucinate is going to be Rodrygo.

"We talked to Vinicius when he was 16 years old. He came when he was 18 years old and to Castilla. He is not the Vinicius that we know now. He has been improving every year."
