GK: Thibaut Courtois - Withdrew from Belgium's squad and was expected to be ruled out for some time but should make a quick recovery.

RB: Dani Carvajal - Right back should be a position Real look to bolster in the summer but for now stalwart Carvajal has the shirt.

CB: Eder Militao - Four La Liga goals this season makes Militao Real's fifth-joint top scorer alongside Luka Modric and Rodrygo.

CB: Antonio Rudiger - The Germany international now has a more regular starting spot which has been strengthened by Ferland Mendy's injury.

LB: David Alaba - That blow to Mendy should see Alaba switch over to left back. Last started a Real game in mid February against Osasuna.

CM: Luka Modric - Recently dismissed reports suggesting Real want him to quit Croatia duty. Has been rotated out of the starting XI a little more regularly this term.

CM: Aurelien Tchouameni - Still finding his feet at the base of Real's midfield. Played well in France's 4-0 thumping of the netherlands, assisting a goal for Kylian Mbappe.

CM: Federico Valverde - Toni Kroos is struggling to be fit in time so may be rested, with Uruguay international Valverde potentially dropping back into midfield.

RW: Rodrygo - That positional swap could allow Brazilian winger Rodrygo to make the starting XI.

ST: Karim Benzema - The break in play should have helped Benzema, who had been carrying knocks for a number of weeks. Faces a tall order if he is to beat his La Liga goal tally from last season (27) this time around, having struck 11 times so far.
