Real Madrid are no strangers when it comes to long-drawn transfer sagas. Given that the club are perpetually in the race for the world’s best players, it is but natural for them to be used to both favourable and unfavourable outcomes.

According to reports from Mario Cortegana via the 4 Amigos Podcast, the Jude Bellingham deal is set to go down the same route as Mbappe. The club are pessimistic about their chances of signing the English midfielder.

Liverpool are the only other top European club said to be in the race, but are far ahead of Real Madrid in terms of negotiations. This is primarily because of two reasons. For starters, the player’s family prefers a move to England over one to Spain. Further, Jurgen Klopp is pushing for the Merseyside club to break the bank for Bellingham, even if it means shelling out €150 million.

At Real Madrid, however, the mentality is different. The management does not want to risk the financial stability of the institution over a position that is already well secured, thus prefer to step out of the race.

The teenager has started all four of England’s games in the Qatar World Cup so far, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His average of 1.2 key passes and 11 defensive actions per game goes on to show his immense work rate and exactly why Europe’s top clubs have him on their radar.
