Real Madrid have La Liga in the bag after their late 3-2 win over Barcelona last weekend. Having taken points off the second-placed team and extended their lead to 11 points, the trophy is all but theirs.

The focus, now, shifts to the UEFA Champions League where Los Blancos are 270 minutes away from the trophy.

Needless to say, one can expect significant rotations from Carlo Ancelotti in La Liga in view of the same, starting from tomorrow’s clash against Real Sociedad.

The teenager’s chance

As revealed in a recent report by AS, Ancelotti plans to provide fringe players with minutes in tomorrow’s game.

One such player who is expected to have minutes off the bench is Arda Guler, who has largely been restricted from minutes this season owing to a number of factors.

While a series of painful injuries hampered Guler’s debut for Real Madrid, the Italian coach opted against using him even after his recovery as he did not see him as physically ready to compete at the highest level.

Months of work later, Guler is now more prepared than ever but has still seen just 50 minutes in La Liga this season.

He has not participated in Real Madrid’s last five games across all competitions, and tomorrow could be his chance to prove his worth with a strong cameo off the bench.

Ancelotti confirms his plan

Speaking to the press ahead of Friday’s clash, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti insisted that he now saw Guler be ready for more prominence and did not rule out his participation tomorrow.

“He’s fine, he’s been ready for a while, he hasn’t had chances, the games have been demanding. He deserved the minutes. He can play.”

Considering that the 19-year-old has impressed in many of his cameos this season, notably against Girona, Celta Vigo and Osasuna, it will be interesting to see how the youngster turns up against the Basque side.
