Jeremy de Leon joined Real Madrid in January last year, arriving from CD Castellon to become a part of the Castilla setup.

The winger, though, shared a lot of happy moments with the Merengues’ first-team squad during the 2023/24 campaign.

After all, he was considered the ‘lucky charm’ and was included in the squad for several key UEFA Champions League matches by Carlo Ancelotti, despite the winger not being registered for the competition.

Jeremy de Leon to leave Real Madrid?

However, Jeremy de Leon endured a difficult 2024/25 campaign riddled with injuries, following which a summer exit appears to be on the horizon.

Indeed, according to MARCA, Jeremy’s time at Real Madrid appears to be coming to an end. The Puerto Rican winger is not part of Alvaro Arbeloa’s plans for the new Castilla squad, and the club has opened the door for his departure.

Although he is under contract until 2026, there is not expected to be any difficulty in finalising an exit, as the 21-year-old is already considering several attractive offers.

Jeremy’s future was already under discussion last January, but at that time the player chose not to consider a move. That situation is now likely to change.

Injuries galore

Jeremy began the 2024/25 season with high hopes. He was part of Real Madrid’s pre-season tour in the United States and aimed to earn Rau’s confidence at Castilla. However, his season quickly unravelled.

The winger suffered an ankle sprain in late August, followed by two shoulder surgeries – in November and March – which derailed any chance of establishing himself. He ended the campaign with only four appearances, totaling up to 37 minutes.

Since his arrival in 2024, Jeremy has not had a major role in the Castilla team and with the player not said to be in new manager Arbeloa’s plans, an exit now seems likely.
