Vinicius Jr., once seen as an essential piece of Real Madrid’s future, is now facing growing scrutiny at the Santiago Bernabeu.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Brazilian forward no longer enjoys the untouchable status he once held at the club.

In a recent match against Valencia, the Bernabeu crowd voiced their frustration—not because of a missed penalty, but because of the player’s general attitude on the pitch.

The issue seems to go beyond statistics or isolated moments. Vinicius, who was once capable of deciding games on his own, has struggled to maintain a consistent level of performance.

While he did play a crucial role in Real Madrid’s comeback against Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey, that effort came after a disagreement with manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The coach reportedly considered substituting him due to a lack of commitment in defensive situations. Vinicius responded by stepping up in that match, but since then, his influence has faded again.

Lack of consistency and attitude concerns

In the last 12 matches for Real Madrid, Vinicius has managed to score just three goals—a worrying return for a player expected to lead the team in attack.

Against Valencia, he did find the back of the net, but he also missed a penalty and failed to complete a single dribble in four attempts.

His lack of impact, both creatively and defensively, was evident, and Ancelotti made the decision to substitute him in the 80th minute.

Supporters at the Bernabeu have started to lose patience. Their reaction suggests the frustration isn’t just about the missed chances, but also about a perceived lack of focus and intensity.

Although Vinicius still has the talent to turn things around, Real Madrid are no longer treating him as untouchable.

If he is to remain central to Ancelotti’s plans, he will need to show greater consistency and a stronger attitude on the pitch.
