Dean Huijsen has been at Real Madrid for close to two months but has already made a solid impression on the management and the fans.
Signed from AFC Bournemouth back in June for a fee of €58 million, the 20-year-old centre-back was one of the Merengues’ top players at the FIFA Club World Cup under Xabi Alonso.
Nominated for the Kopa Trophy after his exceptional season, the young Spaniard will be hoping to achieve great success in his debut campaign at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Upon his arrival at Real Madrid, Huijsen took the No. 24 shirt, given the limited number of choices in front of him.
However, according to The Athletic, Huijsen would love to wear the No. 4 shirt at Real Madrid in the future.

The #4 jersey, currently held by David Alaba, was made iconic at the club by former captains and legends Fernando Hierro and Sergio Ramos.
Huijsen has previously gone on record stating that Ramos was one of his idols growing up.
“My idol is Sergio Ramos. For me, he is very complete and had everything. That’s why I aspire to be like him,” the youngster had said back in June.
So, it does not come as a surprise that he aspires to don the No. 4 shirt that Ramos made legendary at Real Madrid in the future.
Alaba took the #4 kit after Ramos’ departure in 2021 and asked for the former captain’s blessings before doing so.
With the Austrian’s contract set to expire in 2026 and there being no plans for a renewal, Huijsen might not have to wait for long to follow in his idol’s footsteps.
