Reinier's agent, Giuliano Bertolucci, has approached Benfica about taking over the loan in January, reports torcedores.com via AS.

Key to the move is Benfica coach Jorge Jesus, who worked with Reinier at Flamengo and would welcome a reunion.

For their part, Real Madrid support the move, with the board deciding to cash in on the youngster. Indeed, Real would prefer to include an obligatory permanent option in the loan arrangement to the tune of €20m.

With Borussia Dortmund, where he first signed in the summer of 2020, Reinier has managed 42 appearances, scoring nine goals and producing four assists. The Brazilian joined Real Madrid in January 2020 from Fla.
