Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric admits winning the LaLiga title is proof there's life after Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Croatia international also admitted that his former teammate's presence was vital throughout his spell at the club.

"It is not necessary to discuss how important Cristiano was for Real Madrid," he told Sportske Novosti.

"But I must say that we were not overwhelmed by the fact that he was not there in the sense that we could not have the same ambitions.

"We were convinced that that we would continue to win without him."
