Journalist Jose Felix Diaz has reported via MARCA that Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde had offers from Saudi Arabia the past summer before Bayern Munich had also knocked on his doors.
The midfielder, however, did not even think of moving away from Real Madrid as his dream has always been to captain the Los Blancos.
Valverde has earned his place within the team and he has done so while ignoring the luxuries and tempting offers which he has received from elsewhere.
As such, his sheer commitment towards the team is steered towards realising the dream of donning the captain’s armband for Real Madrid in the future.
It was only a couple of months back that Valverde signed an extension with Madrid, keeping him at the club until 2029 which would complete a cycle of 13 years in the Spanish capital and 11 seasons in the first team.
While signing an extension, the Uruguayan was aware of the interest he had generated and he knew he could easily ward away from Spain to earn big bucks. On the contrary, the midfielder struck a deal with a release clause worth €1000 million.

In 2016 when Valverde arrived from Penerol, he cost Madrid just €5 million, but over the years, his market value has skyrocketed almost 20 times.
The Saudi League was prepared to offer an astronomical sum to make him their centrepiece, but the player’s commitment towards the team triumphed over the financial allure.
Meanwhile, it’s not just Valverde who dreams of leading Real Madrid, as it is said that even esteemed figures, including Carlo Ancelotti, believe that he is destined to wear that captain’s band.
Ancelotti challenges him to continually evolve, having previously set targets for his contributions in the last season.
Now, the expectation is for him to transform into the total midfielder—a player capable of seizing the ball in his own area, driving it to the opponent, distributing and battling, maintaining and disrupting the game’s rhythm. In essence, he is urged to become the complete player.
