Real Madrid bagged their second title of the season last night with a 3-0 win over Pachuca in the Intercontinental Cup final at the Lusail Stadium.

It was a night of almost no wrongs as Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo Goes all got on the scoresheet and Carlo Ancelotti became the most decorated manager in the club’s history.

There was, however, one black mark on the game which was the injury to Jude Bellingham close to the full-time whistle.

The English midfielder faced discomfort in his thigh towards the end of the game and was seen repeatedly placing his hand on the affected area. He even talked to the club physiotherapist after the game and was bandaged for the celebrations.

Real Madrid are calm

As relayed in a recent update by Mundo Deportivo, sources from inside the club have expressed tranquillity over Bellingham’s situation and are confident that his blow is not serious.

The Spanish outlet also furthers that the player may well be ready for the team’s clash against Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday, although it is not yet certain.

His feelings in training tomorrow will be the factor that will decide his participation against Los Nervionenses. No risk will be taken, but there is a good chance that he features on the night.

After a relatively slow start to the season in front of goal, the 21-year-old phenom has picked up in recent weeks. In fact, he scored in five straight games for Los Blancos leading up to the Intercontinental Cup final last night.

Bellingham will be critical for Real Madrid’s charge in the second half of the season as well and Carlo Ancelotti will require him to be in his best form. After all, his resurgence has been one of the key factors behind the team’s improvement in recent weeks.
