Real Madrid are losing faith in head coach Carlo Ancelotti following a poor run of games, according to Relevo.

Madrid have seemingly lost the La Liga title to Barcelona, who are eight points away from their rivals, following their 3-0 win over Sevilla.

Xavi Hernandez’s side has pried their opposition open for fun and have almost wrestled back the La Liga title from their arch-rivals.

Barcelona also assured their superiority in the Spanish Super Cup weeks ago. Madrid were second best on the day and received a 3-1 thrashing as their Catalan counterparts lifted the title.

Ancelotti now knows things are no longer the same at Valdebebas. The former AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain boss is an experienced player who knows it is a results game.

The 63-year-old knows his side must win the FIFA Club World Cup to add to the UEFA Super Cup to make this season worthwhile. Any slip-up could have costly implications.

However, Madrid are not in their finest form. They lost to Javier Aguirre’s Real Mallorca this weekend. They have one win in their last three games after drawing with Real Sociedad.

Whatever happens in the Club World Cup, Ancelotti will likely see out this campaign. It is his continuity that is not assured.

There are rumours he could leave at the end of the campaign, and despite saying he would retire after this spell with Madrid, he will likely continue his incredible coaching journey.

The Brazil head coach job is reportedly his for the taking if he wants it following Tite’s resignation.

His son, Davide, is a favourite to replace the four-time Champions League-winning manager at Los Blancos.

Former Real Madrid striker Raul Gonzalez is another candidate after impressing with the Castilla.
