Sometimes, transfer rumours can raise quite a few eyebrows. This is one of those times.
According to La Razon, Real Madrid are eyeing up a move for Fulham midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa, who is currently on loan at Villarreal.
Anguissa is Fulham’s club-record signing after they bought the player from Marseille two summers ago for £30m but failed to live up to expectations and was shipped off to LaLiga following the club’s relegation.
However, the Cameroon international has regained his form in Spain which has prompted the likes of Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid to take an interest in the player.
The 24-year-old is seen as a back-up option for Casemiro, who is currently Real Madrid’s only deep-lying midfielder.
Villarreal do currently hold an option-to-buy but it’s believed the club would not be able to afford his £70,000-a-week wages.
