Premier League giants Manchester United have positioned themselves in the hunt for a leading member of the defensive ranks at Girona.
That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Miguel Gutiérrez as the player in question.
Full-back Gutiérrez, for his part, is fresh off a stellar campaign on the books of the aforementioned Girona, which saw the Spaniard play a central role in his side’s historic 3rd-placed La Liga finish.
Gutiérrez, all told, racked up 35 appearances in Spain’s top-flight, chipping in with two goals and an impressive seven assists along the way.
Such exploits have long piqued the attentions of clubs across the continent, with the likes of Arsenal and Bayern Munich having previously been named as keen admirers of the 22-year-old.
As alluded to above, though, on Friday, another of the continent’s most recognisable clubs have also been credited with an interest in Gutiérrez.
As per the aforementioned Relevo:
‘Manchester United is another of the teams who have begun asking about him.’
The Red Devils, alongside both Borussia Dortmund and Bologna, are understood to be giving consideration to tabling a summer offer for the gifted left-back.
And, should as much ultimately arrive, keeping a close eye on the situation will be the hierarchy at Real Madrid.
Los Blancos sold Gutiérrez to Girona back in 2022, after 11 years in Spain’s capital.
And, as part of the transfer agreement, the La Liga champions secured both a buyback option set at €8 million, as well as a considerable 50% sell-on clause.
