The hosts were mathematically relegated from LaLiga hours before kick-off meaning this clash with the champions proved to be dead rubber.

However, Carlo Ancelotti’s reserve side made sure to impress the boss ahead of the Champions League final as they let the goals fly against Granada.

It took roughly 20 minutes for Real Madrid to settle into the match but an unmarked Fran García curled home the opener in the box before fan favourite Arda Güler netted his third goal for the club.

After the break, Real Madrid appeared to sit back and let the hosts move the ball around but Granada couldn’t find a way to register more than one shot on target.

Lucas Boyé, in particular, was fairly active for the hosts but struggled to connect with any of his teammates.

Brahim Diaz eventually secured a brace for the visitors with a rocket solo effort before swivelling in the box and turning home a fourth.

Looking at the table, Granada sit 19th with 21 points while victors Real Madrid have 90, some 15 above second-place Girona.
