Real Madrid have a busy summer ahead. Despite already having a number of match-winners in the squad, the club are looking to make some big-name signings come June.
One of Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland is likely to sign for Los Blancos in the coming months, for Florentino Perez sees a marquee forward to be the need of the hour.
Further, Real Madrid are also eyeing names like Alphonso Davies at left-back and Leny Yoro in central defence.
Considering the sheer number of higher-priority operations on their roster, Real Madrid do not have it in mind to sign a new right-back next summer.
Dani Carvajal will remain Carlo Ancelotti’s first-choice right-back for the coming campaign, especially considering his great run of form this season. The question, however, revolves around his backup.
As revealed earlier today, one of Nacho Fernandez or Lucas Vazquez will continue at the club next season.
Both players end their contracts on June 30th and are seen as viable options to provide cover at right-back. The final decision of who to renew is yet to be made.
Now, according to reports from Manu Amor, Real Madrid are also active on the market front despite being clear about their intentions of not signing a right-back.
Juni Calafat & co. are maintaining close eyes on potential targets, perhaps with the idea of a signing in future windows.
Reece James is one such player whom Calafat admires, but his contractual situation at Chelsea is not amicable for a transfer. His deal with Chelsea runs until 2028, serving as precursor to a large transfer fee that Real Madrid do not agree with.
The scouts of Real Madrid thus have their eyes on the Bundesliga too, where they see an abundance of targets.
Needless to say, Castilla players like Vinicius Tobias and Juvenil A players like Jesus Fortea are also on the manager’s mind. The latter, in fact, is seen as one with a very high ceiling.
