Reyna’s Incredible Rise At Signal Iduna Park
Reyna is currently considered as one of the brightest young players in European football as he has already proven himself to be a valuable member of Dortmund’s squad. The United States international has banged in two goals and secured one assist in five appearances for the German outfit this season on all fronts.
The 18-year-old did well to register seven goals and eight assists in 46 matches for his current employers in the previous campaign across all competitions. Reyna proved his worth as a consistent performer in the final third after he averaged 1.2 shots, 1.1 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga last season. He even distributed possession quite well in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 83.1% in league football (stats via whoscored).
Reyna will only get better as he matures with each season, so he would be a great signing for Los Blancos to pursue for the long run. Plus, it also makes a lot of financial sense as Real Madrid could potentially boost their brand in the United States if they can get the Dortmund whizkid on board in the not-too-distant future.

Is Reyna A Prospect For The Future?
Reyna has a knack for finding a yard of space to get a few shots in at goal. He can use his quickness to make some promising runs with the ball in the opposition half. The nine-time United States is usually quite creative with the ball as he has got the vision to unlock the opponent’s defence when is playing with confidence on the pitch. However, Reyna is still quite raw and would need time to be more productive in the attacking end of the pitch.
At 18, the American player is a gem in the making and would be an excellent option for Los Blancos to consider in January or at the end of this campaign. He is undeniably a prospect to watch out for in the coming seasons and would offer some serious competition for Isco, Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in the race to secure a place in Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.
Reyna will also serve as a decent long-term successor to Eden Hazard, who has been far too injury-prone during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Hence, Ancelotti should try everything in his power to bring the Dortmund prospect to Madrid as the Italian tactician has got the experience to oversee his development and get the best out of the youngster over the next few years.
