Real Madrid stayed alive in the defence of their LaLiga title with an impressive win at Granada on Thursday night.
Scorers: Molina 71′; Modrić 17′, Rodrygo 45+1, Odriozola 75′, Benzema 76′
Zinedine Zidane opted to throw two relatively untested Castilla youngsters in from the start and one, Miguel Gutiérrez, repaid that faith early with a marvellous scooped pass for Luka Modrić, who raced onto it to supply the finishing touch.
They added a second from the other flank in first half injury time when Rodrygo broke down the right, made a yard for himself in the area and fired into the far corner.
Granada thought they’d set up a nervous finish when Jorge Molina netted with 20 minutes left by tucking away a rebound after Thibaut Courtois parried straight at him.
But Real put the game beyond doubt minutes later with a quickfire double to quell any anxiety as substitute Álvaro Odriozola got forward to slam in a third before Karim Benzema netted from range after a goalkeeping error to wrap things up.
The result leaves Los Blancos just two points off Atlético atop the table with two games remaining.
