Real Madrid are ready to do battle with arch rivals Barcelona over the signing of Bayer Leverkusen star Jonathan Tah.
That’s according to Diario Sport, citing German outlet Bild, who have on Thursday provided a fresh insight into the situation.
The name of defender Tah has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Barcelona for some time now.
This comes amid widespread confirmation that, after coming up short in their pursuit of the German international over the summer, the Camp Nou brass have turned their attentions towards landing Tah in 2025.
The 28-year-old is set to see his terms with Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen expire next summer, boasting no intention of committing to a new deal.
Widely regarded as one of the standout central defenders in Europe, Tah, in turn, has made his way onto the radar of not only Barca, but a number of other leading clubs, too.
And one such outfit, as alluded to above, come in the form of Real Madrid.
As per Sport, the reigning La Liga champions have already made contact with Tah’s entourage, over his arrival as a free agent next summer.
With the player himself favouring a move to Spain over any other destination, a Clásico battle therefore appears to be on the cards for his signature.
