Real Madrid have reportedly told Arsenal that it will cost €40m to sign midfielder Dani Ceballos this summer.
Ceballos joined the Gunners on a season-long loan last July, and continues to impress under new head coach Mikel Arteta.
According to Mirror Football, Madrid believe €40m represents good value for a promising young player who still has three years left on his current deal.
The LaLiga giants were initially unwilling to sell Ceballos but their standpoint has changed following the emergence of Federico Valverde, plus long-standing interest in Manchester United star Paul Pogba.
Arsenal have posted a post-tax financial loss for the first time since 2002 – as a direct result of failing to qualify for Champions League football – but are said to be ‘seriously considering’ a deal.
Arteta has also earmarked Atlético Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as a viable summer target.
