Real Madrid are moving ahead in their bid to sign a new centre-back, with Nacho Fernandez and Rafa Marin leaving the club imminently. Their chosen target is Leny Yoro, Lille’s 18-year-old sensation, who has also attracted interest from Manchester United, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain.

A deal will be sought in the coming weeks, and according to Diario AS, Real Madrid hope to have a deal tied up before the start of their pre-season schedule, which gets underway in mid-July.

Yoro is out of contract at Lille in 2025, and while it was a consideration to wait to get him for free, Real Madrid have discarded this option, and will instead go full throttle towards signing him now. The problem is that Lille are demanding €70m, although Los Blancos’ intention is to pay no more than €40m.

Yoro only wants to join Real Madrid, which will work in their favour during these upcoming negotiations. It remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached in the next couple of weeks.
