After already closing two signings, Real Madrid are now pushing to secure the signing of teenage sensation Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.
The 17-year-old attacking midfield talent is a player that Los Blancos have admired for a while but seemed to have cooled their interest in recent months.
However, just when it seemed like PSG were closing in on the Argentine prodigy’s signing, Real Madrid have thrown their hat back in the ring.
In fact, according to Sky Germany journalist Patrick Berger, Real Madrid are now in the pole position to sign Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.
The Merengues’ chief scout, Juni Calafat, is already in Buenos Aires to negotiate with the player’s camp as well as his club, so as to secure his deal.

Furthermore, everyone at Real Madrid are confident about closing the deal, with CEO Jose Angel Sanchez aiming to complete the operation in time for the teenager to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.
The report states that agreement over personal terms will not be a problem at all, as Mastantuono is very interested in signing Real Madrid.
PSG, for their part, had held negotiations with the player a few days ago but there were no club-to-club talks between them and River Plate.
With the youngster hitting pause on the PSG operation, everything seems to indicate that Real Madrid are now frontrunners to sign Mastantuono.
