In a recent report, Bild mentioned that Real Madrid have identified Bayern Munich star Joshua Kimmich as a replacement for Toni Kroos this summer. It is believed that Los Blancos could move in for the Germany international in this summer transfer period.

Kimmich enjoyed a decent campaign at the Bavarian club as he put in a run of impressive displays on the right side of their defence. The 29-year-old scored two goals and picked up ten assists in 43 matches for Bayern Munich last season on all fronts.

The German talent proved his worth on the right flank by averaging 1.6 tackles, 0.5 interceptions, 0.9 clearances, 0.9 shots and 2.6 key passes per 90 minutes in the Bundesliga. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball after completing 91.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Kimmich is under contract at the Allianz Arena until the end of next season which could give Real Madrid a chance to snap him up on the cheap later this summer.

Is Kimmich A Good Option For Real Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti?

Kimmich loves a tackle and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his side inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when needed and can shoot the ball with power from long range.

The German talent can even orchestrate a few promising chances for his teammates in the final third. He is primarily a right-back but can also operate as a holding midfielder or as a box-to-box midfielder if asked to do so.

Kimmich would no doubt enhance the quality of Real Madrid‘s first XI. He is good enough to nail down a regular starting spot at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium next season. Furthermore, Kimmich would serve as an ideal replacement for Toni Kroos who announced his retirement recently.

At 29, the German sensation is still playing in his prime and could help Los Blancos compete for even more major silverware in the coming years. Therefore, he would be an excellent option for the Madrid giants to pursue in this summer transfer window. However, only time will tell whether Kimmich can make a smooth transition to life in Spain.
