With the January transfer window looming, it is time for Real Madrid to analyse everything and see how the squad might look from the next season.

While there are some certainties, the team from the Spanish capital is still exploring the futures of certain individuals including on-loan forward Joselu and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

According to Jose Felix Diaz of MARCA, the record European champions have not made any decision regarding the continuity of Kepa and Joselu as the club wants to wait and see how they perform during the rest of the season.

Arrizabalaga is preferred by Ancelotti

While it is certain that Arrizabalaga will lose his place once Thibaut Courtois returns, it is no secret that the Chelsea loanee is loved by Carlo Ancelotti so much so that the Italian is ready to sacrifice a certain Andriy Lunin.

Furthermore, as reported before, Real Madrid are actually contemplating the idea of signing Arrizabalaga permanently, although no official negotiations have taken place between Madrid and Chelsea yet.

Once Courtois returns, Real Madrid will have three goalkeepers in the roster and one among them will be sacrificed and everything indicates that Lunin will be the one departing despite having a contract until 2025.

What about Joselu?

Joselu’s future at the club is extremely dicey. The 33-year-old is currently on loan and he is very much satisfied with his game time and even the club appreciates his continued efforts.

The Espanyol loanee has performed diligently whenever called upon and the fact that he has netted six goals and two assists explains how dedicated he is towards the team.

So far, Real Madrid plan to bring Kylian Mbappe in the summer, and if that transfer pans out, Joselu will be pushed further down the card, which is why the team wants to wait until the end of the season to make a decision.
