Endrick will finally be arriving at Real Madrid in the summer this year, over 18 months after the club secured his signing from Palmeiras.

Indeed, Los Blancos signed the teenage sensation in December 2022, beating off competition from other big clubs, including Chelsea and Barcelona, to avoid another ‘Neymar case’.

At the time, Endrick was only 16 years old, but despite that Real Madrid agreed to a €60 million deal (including add-ons) for the teenager.

Once Endrick turns 18 in July, he will be arriving at Real Madrid, potentially joining forces with Kylian Mbappe, who is also expected to join the Merengues this year.

Heartwarming conversation with Modric

Ahead of his big-money move to Real Madrid, Endrick has been making waves with his performances for Palmeiras and the Brazil national team.

In fact, the 17-year-old could make his Santiago Bernabeu debut tomorrow when Brazil face Spain in a friendly.

On the eve of the encounter, Endrick relived his conversation with Real Madrid legend Luka Modric when he visited the Bernabeu in the past, in a letter to his younger brother, via The Players Tribune.

“What I remember most is when I walked into the dressing room and Modric spoke to me. The number 10 shirt was hanging and he pointed to the seat next to him and said: “Number 9 and Number 10. Who knows… next season, maybe you’ll sit next to me,” recalled Endrick.

“That really got to me. I thought: Man, if Modric believes I’m worthy of wearing number 9, then I must be for real!”

Endrick has been tipped to take the No. 9 kit at Real Madrid next term, with the shirt being vacant since Karim Benzema’s exit last year.

“I haven’t got to Madrid yet, so I don’t know, but I hope to wear Real Madrid’s number 9 one day,” he added.

Chats with Bellingham, Ronaldo

In the letter to his little brother, Endrick also reminisced about his chat with Jude Bellingham and how he celebrated in the Real Madrid superstar’s signature style after scoring.

“I met Bellingham, that really good guy who always scores for me on PlayStation, and everyone calls him Jude, so I said to him: ‘Hey Jude, for my next goal, I’m going to do your celebration.’ When I scored, I sent him the video on Instagram and he reposted it.”

“I even got some advice from Ronaldo Fenômeno. It all happened very quickly, as if I was in a dream,” he noted.

Elaborating on his obsession for Real Madrid, Endrick wrote: “When I was little, I didn’t have a cell phone or anything, so I used to borrow mom’s computer and watch the highlights of Real Madrid games, since I was 7 or 8 years old.

“I was obsessed with that 2013-14 team with Cristiano, Modric and Benzema. That was my gateway into the club’s history.”

Endrick then outlined his dream of meeting Cristiano Ronaldo in the future, saying: “I hope I can meet Cristiano one day. As I write this, that hasn’t happened yet.

“But his son follows me on Instagram, so I hope that by the time you’re reading this I’ll have managed to shake his hand. God willing, everything will go well at Real Madrid and in my career, and Cristiano will follow me!”
