Real Madrid are looking to strengthen both full-back departments next summer and have already identified their targets.

At right-back, the name that resounds is Trent Alexander-Arnold who is also in the final year of his deal and looking to leave Liverpool.

Competition galore

The player has been linked widely with Real Madrid and was expected to join the team as a free agent as so many players have in recent times.

As revealed by Bernabeu Digital in a recent update, however, Barcelona have entered the race and are looking to snap up his services as they look for a natural right-back.

If the entry of the Catalans was not enough in the story of the Real Madrid target, the outlet also adds that Manchester City and PSG are in the race to sign him in June.

The player has still not responded to contract renewal talks with Liverpool and every passing day makes it clear that he favours a change in scenery.

The question, however, is whether Real Madrid can beat the competition or will leave it to the player.

Needless to say, Jude Bellingham will play a big part in convincing the defender if he is to move to Real Madrid given the special bond he shares with Alexander-Arnold from the national team setup.

So far this season, the 26-year-old has made 13 appearances for Liverpool in the Premier League and has racked up three assists in that duration. With Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez both past 30 years of age, he would be the right long-term replacement.
