Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is exploring solutions to address the ongoing concerns surrounding the right-back position.
According to reports from MARCA, since the possibility of signing Trent Alexander-Arnold in January appears increasingly unlikely, this situation has prompted Ancelotti to evaluate the existing options and potential strategies to navigate the remainder of the season.
Currently, Real Madrid rely on Lucas Vazquez to fill the right-back role. While he has proven to be a reliable option, the demands of six and a half months of intense competition could pose a challenge.
Despite this, the club remains cautious about making impulsive decisions. This careful approach has been evident in recent months, particularly with their strategic decisions regarding young talents like Franco Mastantuono and Leny Yoro.
It is said that the Real Madrid management discussed the possibility of reinforcing the squad in the winter transfer market. However, if a signing does not materialise, Ancelotti is prepared to adapt the existing resources.

For instance, Federico Valverde, known for his versatility, could be deployed as a temporary right-back in certain matches.
Alternatively, the coaching staff might experiment with shifting Raul Asensio into the full-back role, though this comes with the risk of overburdening the player and potentially affecting his contributions elsewhere on the pitch.
The urgency to address the right-back issue this winter stems from a combination of factors. Firstly, the team has a clearly defined objective and groundwork has already been laid to make a potential move feasible.
Secondly, the squad’s needs have evolved, creating an environment where reinforcements could make an immediate impact.
Unlike last year, when injuries to David Alaba and Eder Militao tested the squad, the current situation presents a more compelling case for action.
