Real Madrid defender Eder Militao has not had an easy year and a half. After working his way back from a devastating ACL injury suffered early last season, the Brazilian returned to the field only to face the same injury only 12 league appearances later.
It was on November 9th that Militao went down with his second ACL injury during Real Madrid’s clash against Osasuna at home. Now over a month-and-a-half past that fateful day, the player is more mentally resilient than ever.
As relayed in a recent update by MARCA, Militao has started his recovery in the best manner possible and has no fear after facing the gruesome injury for the second time.

The player is calm and confident and knows that the management retain faith in him despite his unfortunate setbacks. The club’s trust in him only fuels his desire to return at the earliest.
The Spanish outlet further relay that Real Madrid have zero doubts over Militao and still consider him the fundamental pillar of their long-term project. He will be welcomed back into the team with ‘open arms’ once he regains his fitness.
No deadlines have been set for the 26-year-old’s return and the club count on him only for the start of the 2025-26 season. However, it is not completely ruled out that he makes it back in time for the Club World Cup.
What is clear at this point is that the centre-back’s setbacks do not push Real Madrid towards the transfer market in any capacity.
Militao is the one chosen to lead the team’s defence, and the player uses that confidence as the fuel he needs to push towards a complete and speedy recovery.
