Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio breaks silence on child pornography allegation | OneFootball

This week has been a difficult one for Real Madrid defender Raul Asencio, and not because for any sporting reasons. The 21-year-old has had allegations of child pornography distribution levelled at him in recent months, and the legal case that is looking the matter has now moved forward.

Raul Asencio releases statement on social media

These developments have led to more discussion on the matter, and specifically, Asencio’s alleged role. And this has prompted the Real Madrid man to release an official statement, which he has done so on social media, as per Marca.

“As a result of the clarification issued today by the head of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of San Bartolomé de Tirajana – in which the indictment initially issued is rectified, expressly excluding me from both the recording of videos of sexual content and the facts that were the subject of said recording – and in view of the public dissemination of information related to said procedure, I wish to state the following:

“I have not participated in any behaviour that violates the sexual freedom of any woman, much less minors. This is confirmed by the resolution issued by the aforementioned Court, which does not attribute to me having had sexual relations with the two women involved, nor having recorded them, with or without their consent. Likewise, the court order clarifies that I was not the one who sent third parties any image or video of intimate content, which, I reiterate, were recorded in a place other than the one where I was.

“The judicial order, as far as I am concerned, limits its content to the possible momentary viewing of images by a third party, without attributing to me any participation in their recording or dissemination.

“The accusation made against me, as expressly stated in the judicial decision itself, is strictly provisional in nature. Therefore, the presumption of innocence must continue to prevail. In the event that charges are finally filed and an oral trial is opened, I will continue to exercise my defense before the Courts and Tribunals, in which I maintain full confidence, reaffirming my alienation from any criminal conduct. All this, without prejudice to the utmost respect that I have for the development of the judicial proceedings as a whole, including with regard to the other persons under investigation.

“I would like to reiterate, once again, my absolute respect for the rights to sexual freedom and privacy of all women.”

For now, this matter is one that continues to be investigation by the relevant authorities, whose investigation will determine the outcome for Asencio.
