It marked a goalscoring El Clasico debut for the Austrian.

Alaba said: "It's a nice feeling. My first Clásico and my first goal. I'm very fortunate and grateful to be able to enjoy this moment, but the win for the team is more important.
"We're all very happy to get the win. We defended very well.
"Barcelona had a lot of possession which makes it difficult, but we were confident on the pitch and held our nerve. It's one of our strengths."
