Real Madrid deal to trigger BRILLIANT Liverpool signing

A deal with Real Madrid is the key to Liverpool securing a brilliant signing this summer. The clock is ticking.

Liverpool want to sign Marc Guehi this summer but they're running out of time. Though, it's a difficult situation.

Crystal Palace do want to sell their captain - that much is known. Chairman Steve Parish openly talked about moving him on and their need to get some sort of return for Guehi before his contract expires in 2026.

So we know the Eagles wan to discuss the transfer and will accept an offer from Liverpool. But they won't accept just any offer - it's got to be an amount that justifies them making the upcoming season more difficult.

That amount, though, isn't necessarily what Liverpool feel is worth it. They'll fancy their chances of landing Guehi for free next year and right now, they've got four centre-backs in the squad.

Adding a player that good on the cheap is absolutely worth doing. At £35m (per BBC) for essentially one season, though? It appears Liverpool aren't so sure.

Unless, of course, Real Madrid enter the picture.

Real Madrid want Ibrahima Konate

Liverpool are in their own similar situation to that of Guehi. Ibrahima Konate is out of contract next summer and doesn't appear to be very close to a new one.

And so the Reds would benefit from getting some sort of fee there. Much as Palace would with their captain.

Real Madrid are the club who could give them that. Reports indicate that Konate wants to move there and Los Blancos plan on signing him for free next summer.

. That's around £10m less than Palace want for Guehi and if the two figures would meet, we imagine both deals happen.

It suits Liverpool to sort both situations ASAP, after all. No one wants another long, insufferable contract situation dragging on throughout the season again.

Similarly, the club would like to guarantee their Konate successor rather than battle other suitors for Guehi in 2026. But things only make sense if they can essentially make the deals happen at equal amounts.

A deal with Real Madrid for around £35m almost certainly triggers a deal for Guehi. Or at any amount, for that matter - maybe talk the Spaniards up to £30m and Palace down to that figure.

It feels as though this is the key to getting something sorted in the next two weeks.
