Tottenham Hotspur could be offered Ferland Mendy by Real Madrid in their bid to lower Harry Kane’s price tag.
This is according to Spanish outlet Cadena SER, who state that apart from Eden Hazard, Mendy could be a name that could come into conversations between the two teams if they discuss Kane’s future.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Karim Benzema’s future at the Santiago Bernabeu is uncertain. The 35-year-old could leave the club this summer amidst interest from Saudi Arabia.

Real Madrid now have a situation where they could have to urgently look for a replacement for the 2022 Ballon d’Or winner. And Benzema, given his reputation and goal-scoring record, isn’t an easy man to replace.
Who better than Harry Kane for them? And that is exactly where the worry would lie for Spurs. Real Madrid are a club players find hard to turn down.
Just ask Gareth Bale, Rafael van der Vaart and Luka Modric. Kane, 29, hasn’t won a trophy in his career with club or country. To go from that to a club that almost guarantees a trophy every season would be a huge step up.
Sure, there is the question of if he wants to stay in England to beat Alan Shearer’s record of 260 Premier League goals. But a move to Real Madrid could help Kane enhance his reputation – as much as it would pain a Spurs fan to admit.

Hopefully, Real Madrid’s eyes fall upon another striker to replace Benzema. Mendy is a player we can use, with Sergio Reguilon’s future at Spurs uncertain and Ivan Perisic, 33, not getting any younger.
If they offer good money along with the France international, then it could be a smart move for us – preventing him from joining a Premier League rival, gaining a player like Mendy in return along with cash to potentially reinvest in a replacement. Let’s see how this develops.
lose him on a free next year.
