Real Madrid’s search for a long-term solution at left-back has taken a new turn, with Juventus’ Andrea Cambiaso now emerging as a serious candidate for a summer move.

According to Fichajes, the Italian defender is gaining traction within the club’s offices, especially as doubts persist over Fran Garcia and Ferland Mendy.

With Alphonso Davies now officially tied up with Bayern Munich, Los Blancos are being forced to reconsider their priorities in the transfer market.

Cambiaso’s versatility appeals to Real Madrid

At 25 years of age, Cambiaso has developed into a key player for Juventus, impressing with his ability to play in multiple roles across the defence and midfield.

His tactical intelligence, composure on the ball, and work rate have caught the eye of Real Madrid’s scouting department.

In fact, it is said that Juni Calafat, the club’s chief scout, has reportedly recommended his signing to the upper management, further increasing the likelihood of Madrid making a move.

His ability to operate as a traditional full-back or a more advanced wing-back provides Carlo Ancelotti with tactical flexibility, something that could be invaluable given the team’s evolving style of play.

With Mendy struggling to remain fit consistently and García failing to fully convince as a starting option, Cambiaso presents an intriguing alternative.

Juventus’ stance and financial considerations

The biggest hurdle for Real Madrid, however, is Juventus’ reluctance to part ways with Cambiaso easily. The Italian club reportedly values him at €65 million, a significant price for a player who has yet to prove himself outside Serie A.

This raises questions over whether Real Madrid are willing to commit such a large sum or if they will continue to monitor alternative options.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Los Blancos must decide whether Cambiaso is worth the investment or if a more cost-effective solution is needed.
