Real Madrid consider their transfer window ‘closed’, no late deals – Romano | OneFootball

As Fabrizio Romano reported on DAZN’s transfer show, Real Madrid have shut the door on any late transfer business.

In fact, there is “no communication” with any player over a new signing and the club consider their summer work complete.

That business amounts to the four first-team additions. This includes the likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, acquired from Liverpool, Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth, Alvaro Carreras from Benfica and Franco Mastantuono from River Plate.

Alexander-Arnold has arrived to deepen the right-back pool and offer playmaking from deep. On the other hand, Huijsen strengthens the centre-back rotation after a breakout year in the Premier League.

Carreras adds a modern, two-way option at left-back and Mastantuono is the blue-chip attacker for the medium term.

No midfielder would be signed

The context is a new era under Xabi Alonso. Madrid moved early to rebuild the full-back lines around Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy while injecting elite potential in attack with Mastantuono’s arrival.

Reports in recent days have linked Los Blancos with opportunistic late moves for a midfielder.

Throughout the summer, names such as Martin Zubimendi and Angelo Stiller among others were scouted, but the stance as of 29 August 2025 is that barring something extraordinary, the window is closed at Valdebebas.

Strategically, the decision tracks with a broader internal confidence. Madrid won’t block pathways for emerging talents such as Arda Guler and Endrick, and they value squad cohesion ahead of a demanding calendar that includes La Liga and the Champions League.

The club’s management is of the idea that the squad seems complete. As far as the midfield is concerned, Aurelien Tchouameni’s rise under Alonso has renewed the faith in the midfielder and Eudardo Camavinga is closing in on fitness too.

All this means barring any last minute changes, Real Madrid would not sign any new players in the closing days of the transfer window.
