Real Madrid have confirmed a thigh injury to Vinícius Jr.
The Brazil international was taken off in Los Blancos’s win over Celta Vigo at the weekend.
Reports from Spain earlier on Monday indicated that the young attacker had suffered a thigh strain and could miss at least six weeks of action.
And that injury has now been confirmed by the club via their official website.
Although the capital club have not revealed the extent of the injury, it seems unlikely that Vinicius Jnr will be able to play for Brazil during the upcoming international break and could well be out until the end of September.
Spanish station COPE believe that to be the case, which would mean the striker will be absent for the first two rounds of Champions League action as well as the Madrid derby.
