Real Madrid confirm lengthy injury for Marco Asensio

Real Madrid have confirmed that Marco Asensio has ruptured the ACL in his left knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days.

Asensio went down during Los Blancos’ friendly with Arsenal on Tuesday evening and was assessed overnight.

However a statement on the club’s website has confirmed the worst possible news, with the youngster having ruptured the ligament in his knee.

It’s likely the Asensio will miss at least the next six months and possibly the entirety of the next season.
