Real Madrid have confirmed the arrival of French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni as their second signing of the summer.

The Champions League winners have already confirmed the arrival of Antonio Rüdiger on a free transfer from Chelsea and have now also moved to bolster their midfield.

According to reports in Spain and England, Madrid will pay AS Monaco an initial €80m for Tchouaméni, with another €20m possibly following in add-ons.

It is believed he has signed a six-year deal at the Santiago Bernabéu, keeping him at the club until 2028.

Just 22, Tchouaméni became a regular at Bordeaux in 2019 before signing for Monaco in January 2020.

The defensive midfielder has played 71 of a possible 76 Ligue 1 games over the last two seasons and made more interceptions (161) than any other player in the league in that time.

That impressive form in has seen him linked with a range of clubs, including Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, but Madrid have won the race to sign him.
