Real Madrid are lining up a move for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
Manchester United are also reportedly keeping tabs on Kounde, with an eye to pairing him up with Harry Maguire next season should they secure the services of the 22-year-old.
AS says Zinedine Zidane wants to persuade Kounde to stay in Spain and move to Madrid this summer, and bolster a backline that faces several questions.
The futures of Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos are uncertain, with the latter's contract running out this summer and Varane repeatedly linked with a move away.
David Alaba looks set to arrive in Madrid at the end of the season, but the Spanish side also reportedly want to add either Kounde or Villarreal's Pau Torres to their ranks.
Madrid are unwilling to pay the Frenchman's full release clause of £78m, as are United, though would be open to a potential £52m move as well as including a player in the deal.
