Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane defended his team selection for their Champions League elimination at Manchester City.

Vinicius Junior was left out of the XI for Eden Hazard, despite many predicting that the Brazilian would play.

"Everyone has an opinion," Zidane responded when asked about the teenager.

"I'm the coach.

"Players come and go [from the XI] and today we went with others.

"When I made the changes, I went for the others."

On the season as a whole, though, Zidane feels satisfied.

"It was very good," he said.

"It didn't end with a good result, but the season has been great.

"We have to be happy with what we've done."
