Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has had his players sleep at the Valdebebas training centre after their first day of preseason training.
The Italian took his first session on Monday after returning to the club earlier this summer, and the players were put through a demanding session.
The biggest shock came later in the evening though as they all stayed put at the hotel in Valdebebas to spend the night, says Marca.
It won't be the last time that Ancelotti decides to have his players sleep at the club's facilities, with his idea being to have the players rest up in the hotel whenever there is a heavy workload scheduled. He feels as though it is the best place for them to rest, recover and get to work again the next day.
The players will wake up on site on Tuesday and, after breakfast, they'll be put through their paces by Ancelotti and Antonio Pintus once more.
Real Madrid will again, because of the pandemic, do pre-season in Madrid and there are no tours planned.
