Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti says Karim Benzema is worthy of comparison with Marco van Basten.

After Benzema's hat-trick at Chelsea, the Italian was asked about a comparison with Van Basten: "These are different times, it's complicated. But Van Basten if you compare them... I think they both appreciate that comparison, both Marco and Karim."

Asked about Benzema's future should PSG striker Kylian Mbappe or Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland arrive, Ancelotti stated: "With Karim's age and that he is doing better, better and better... his teammates don't change anything. In the future he will be one of the most important players in this club, without a doubt, whoever is with him."
