The powers that be at Real Madrid have identified Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso as a chief transfer target for the summer.
That’s according to Italian outlet the Corriere dello Sport (as cited by Tuttomercatoweb), who point towards versatile full-back Cambiaso as being held in high esteem in Spain’s capital.
Real headmaster Carlo Ancelotti, as well as son and assistant Davide, are understood to view the 23-year-old as the ideal addition with a view to next season.
This of course comes amid increasing doubt over a prospective deal for Bayern Munich standout Alphonso Davies.
An offer in excess of €40 million is in turn being readied by the transfer team at the Santiago Bernabéu, who in fact gave serious consideration to approaching Juventus over Cambiaso in January.
Should as much be deemed sufficient by the Serie A heavyweights, they will then seek out Riccardo Calafiori of Bologna as his replacement.
Cambiaso, for his part, is an Italian international capable of lining out as either an orthodox full-back or wing-back, on either the left or right.
The former Genoa talent has racked up 21 appearances across all competitions thus far this season, notching two goals and four assists along the way.
