As the season continues, Real Madrid are cautiously exploring their options in the transfer market, as part of the plans to reinforce the team next season.

The club have recently reached an agreement with top defensive target Alphonso Davies, who is reportedly ready to join Los Blancos at the end of the season.

Davies’ arrival could go a long way in reinforcing the ranks in the left-back position. But Real Madrid are equally keen on signing another top target in the form of Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The Liverpool star has emerged as a priority target in defence, as the club look to find a long-term replacement for Dani Carvajal.

A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered a fresh report on the future of Alexander-Arnold, suggesting that Real Madrid are indeed confident of signing the Englishman.

The Liverpool star’s contract at Anfield expires at the end of the season and while the player has remained tight-lipped about his future, Real Madrid believe he is ready to join them next season.

Alexander-Arnold, after all, has almost everything at Liverpool, but it could be time for a step up, as he looks to constantly fight for the Champions League title every season.

Moreover, the right-back enjoys an excellent relationship with Jude Bellingham, which could play a key role in convincing him to move to Santiago Bernabeu.

Liverpool, for their part, are working on a deal to renew Alexander-Arnold’s contract. Despite that, it appears that Real Madrid are confident about their chances of landing the England star.

More details could come out in the next few months, as Alexander-Arnold is likely to make a decision before he becomes eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with Real Madrid or any other club in January.
