During the international break last month, Real Madrid were dealt a double injury blow as Eduardo Camavinga and Vinicius Jr. returned from the France and Brazil camps, respectively, with fitness problems.
It was soon reported that their year was over and that the key pair would not play again in the remainder of 2023.
In fact, in the case of Vinicius Jr. it was even suggested that he might not return until February 2024, in time for the first leg of the UCL Round of 16.
But it appears that Vinicius’ recovery is going rather well, with MARCA reporting that the Real Madrid forward stepped out on the grass and trained with the ball today.
While this is certainly a step in the right direction, it does not mean that the 23-year-old will be returning before the mid-season break later this month.
But the report adds that Vinicius’ main objective is to get fully fit and ready in time for Real Madrid’s Spanish Super Cup match next month.

Los Blancos face local rivals Atletico Madrid in the Super Cup semi-finals on January 10 in Saudi Arabia, and there is belief within the club that Vinicius will be back in time for the blockbuster encounter.
If that is how things turn out, it will be a huge boost for Real Madrid, for the Brazilian is one of their most important players.
It is true that the likes of Rodrygo Goes and Brahim Diaz have stepped up in a big way in recent matches.
But having the Brazilian superstar back in the squad, especially for the semi-finals and possibly the finals of the Spanish Super Cup next month will be an added shot of confidence for the team.
