Real Madrid were held to a 0-0 draw by Real Sociedad and their first game of the 2020/21 LaLiga season.

Sergio Ramos and Karim Benzema both had chances to score in the first half, while Alexander Isak forced a good save from Thibaut Courtois just before half-time.

Ander Barrenetxea then went close to opening the scoring early in the second half, before Benzema drew a good save from Álex Remiro.

And there was almost a fairytale moment when David Silva had a great chance to score late in the game, but Raphaël Varane made a brave block to preserve the draw.
