According to AS, talks between Real Madrid and club legend Raúl González about potentially taking over from Zinedine Zidane in the managerial hot seat, began last week.
Eintracht Frankfurt club officials flew to Spain last week to offer Raúl the chance to coach Frankfurt’s first team next season and shortly after the Bundesliga side’s visit, Madrid reportedly started conversations with the Real Madrid Castilla head coach.
Raúl’s representatives informed Madrid of Frankfurt’s offer. Madrid then told the 43-year-old that he is one of the prime candidates for the job. While Eintracht’s offer is appealing, Raúl has put the matter on hold until Zinedine Zidane gives a concrete answer, which is expected to be announced next week after the LaLiga season comes to an end. Raúl is one of the favourites to take over from Zidane, along with Italian coach Massimiliano Allegri.
