Real Madrid cruised into the knockout stages of the Club World Cup with a 3-0 win over RB Salzburg in Philadelphia, which confirmed Los Blancos placing top of Group H.

The Austrians were eliminated, as Al Hilal defeated Pachuca to set up a clash with Manchester City in the round of 16. Real Madrid, meanwhile, will face Juventus.

Vinicius finds the net

Real Madrid started the game in controlled fashion limiting Salzburg to only the occasional foray forward.

Jude Bellingham and Fede Valverde both went close for Real, but Salzburg began to grow into the game - only for the Spaniards to take the lead just as the Austrians were starting to get a foothold in the game.

Bellingham was heavily involved, as he threaded a great ball at pace to Vinícius, who skillfully cut in on his left foot and shot low into the net to end a mini-drought of eight games without a goal.

'Vini' was in full flow by this point and he laid on Madrid's second goal when he selflessly rolled the ball back for Valverde to make it 2-0.

Salzburg keep plugging away

The Austrians were more assertive at the start of the second period and Daghim twice went close when well-positioned in the box.

The Spaniards were on the ropes, and Bellingham pitched in defensively to prevent a certain goal from Baidoo.

As is often their way, Real then scored another when the tide seemed against them. This time Trent Alexander-Arnols played his part - the former Liverpool defender playing in Gonzalo, whose smart finish made it 3-0. Job done for Madrid...Juventus await them in the knockouts.
