Every time a young talent makes the headlines in Brazil, eventually he gets linked with a move to both Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

The two clubs always have an eye on the up-and-coming footballers in the South American nation, having previously warred for Endrick’s signing and most recently showing an interest in Chelsea-bound Estevao Willian.

Now, it appears that the two heavyweights of La Liga have a shared interest in yet another young jewel from Brazil.

Pedro Lima on Real Madrid, Barcelona’s radar

Indeed, as per AS, both Real Madrid and Barcelona have taken an interest in Sport Recife’s teenage right-back Pedro Lima.

Just 17 years old, the defensive ace is enjoying a breakthrough campaign with the Brazilian second-division outfit, making 19 senior appearances in which he has two goals and assists apiece.

Seen as one of the most exciting talents coming through in the Brazilian football scene, Pedro Lima already has a list of admirers from Europe.

Both Real Madrid and Barcelona are tracking the teenage defensive prodigy, but are not alone as PSG and Juventus are also monitoring him.

No formal offers yet

Joao Marcelo Barros, head of Sport Recife’s management committee, confirmed that while there have been no concrete offers for Lima yet, several top European clubs have already made enquiries for Pedro Lima.

“We have already been contacted by several big clubs in Europe. We know of many who are following him, but there are no concrete offers, nothing has been formalised yet,” he said.

“Now, we have no doubt that Pedro Lima is going to be one of the big names in Brazilian football in the next few years.”

Pedro Lima has a contract with Sport Recife until December 31, 2027. The young right-back will turn 18 in July this year and would be able to move to Europe.

Whether any of the interested clubs make a move remains to be seen.
